Focus Digital Displays Embraces Christmas Spirit, Delivers Free LED Sign for Charity Event

The spirit of Christmas is alive and well this season in central Texas with religious organizations across the state spreading the good word and raising proceeds for those in need. One such event was recently held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Park Texas with their annual Follow the Star production that raises food and cash donations for the Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM). The church approached Focus Digital Displays for help promoting the event, and they responded with a full color mobile digital display which proved more useful than expected when freezing temperatures moved into the area.

Follow the Star is an annual production featuring ten critical scenes of the life of Jesus Christ. Attendees can drive, or walk through the event, experiencing each scene outdoors with live actors, sets, and costumes. Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items that go to HCCM, a local ministry that helps families in need. Focus Digital Displays had already been working with the church on a permanent LED sign for their property, but the church needed a way to promote this event before the new sign was finished.

“Publicizing the event was a major concern.” explained Matthew Headley, Chief Operations Manager for Good Shepherd “We chose Focus Digital….because they are a quality company that will go the extra mile for their client.”

Focus Digital Displays was able to live up to that expectation and provide a full color mobile LED sign to help promote the event and communicate important information to the attendees. They partnered with California based LED sign manufacturer Vantage LED on the mobile unit that will be used for demonstrations and future community events.

“We were happy to show our commitment and appreciation to the church for their business and all they do for the community.” said Ben Blackburn, owner of Focus Digital Displays.

Headquartered in Round Rock, Texas, home of Dell Computers, Focus Digital Displays provides LED sign solutions nationwide building a substantial portfolio of projects and satisfied customers over the years. They offer a variety of sizes and options, and advertise as a “one-stop shop” for digital displays.

In addition to LED displays, they offer complete sign packages, national installation services, permit acquisition, content creation services, and unlimited support for the lifetime of their displays. According to Mr. Blackburn, their expertise and attention to clients needs has been a big factor in the success of the business.

“We take great pride in making the purchase of a digital sign easy; as our tagline states, digital sign communication made simple.” he stated, “Our expertise and knowledge of the product makes the customer at ease.”

The LED message content was able to be changed in real time during the event thanks to SM Infinity, a new cloud based software that allows digital sign control over the internet. This feature proved even more useful than expected when a batch of icy weather rolled into the area during the three day event. They were able to change the message immediately in response, assuring the public that the event was still in operation and recommending they drive through the event to keep warm.

“The sign helped us reach traffic on a major thoroughfare.” explained Mr. Headley, “[it] performed fantastic…not only to communicate the message about the event but when inclement weather affected our event we were able to communicate effectively with the public and provide them with important updates.”

The church reported the production a complete success. Despite the cold, over 4000 members of the community attended, donating 2500 lbs of food and over $4500 in cash to the Hill Country Community Ministries. They were very appreciative of Focus Digital for the help on both this event and the future permanent sign.

“Focus was outstanding to work with.” reiterated Mr. Headley, “ …from concept to design to installation and beyond; you just can’t get any better service and commitment to quality in today’s marketplace.”

“We were happy to show our commitment and appreciation to the church for their business and all they do for the community.”
